 Mindful Practice: EnhancingQuality of Care,
Quality of Caring and Resilience

May 2016 we plan to bring together a team of Mindful medical teachers. Doctors skilled in coaxing the minds and hearts of health care professionals. Inspiring us to remember curiosity, kindness, stability, flexibility and resilience, while not loosing sight of our scientific stringency. Ever increasing our patient safety.  A course resting on knowledge from mindful meditation, appreciative inquiry and narrative medicine, taught through experiential learning principles .

Where;  Join us on Sweden's scenic west coast just outside of Gothenburg, Löftadalens Folkhögskolan i Åsa. Easily accessible from Landvetter airport and Gothenburg central station or even a 2 hour train ride north of Copenhagen or a 2 hour trained south of Oslo.  Cliffs, shoreline, forrest, sauna, will all be available. Even kayaks for rent. Arrive early and leave late to fully enjoy the environment.

Dates: May 10-13 2016,  Start 1pm Tues.- ending 2 pm Fri.

Participants:  doctors from all nationalities and specialties but also midwives, nurses, psychologists, and physical therapists.  Clinically active health care professionals with or without previous experience in mediation and mindfulness. 

This course is endorsed by the Swedish Federation of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians (SFOG) and is to be found advertised for Swedish participants in their course catalog (follow link). There will be a large number of Swedish Ob/Gyn colleagues and midwives participating. The last day will include an introduction to Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting with meditation techniques engaging pain management in childbirth and  very effective for chronic disease.

We have previously given this course nationally in Swedish and in Sweden in English for Swedish and international  healthcare professionals. Price: Instruction and materials 8,840 SEK, excluding sales tax/ VAT  or 936 euros 10/20/2015 (American and Canadians who apply are offered a 1000 SEK rebate to offset some travel costs making their price presently 965 US dollars 14/10/ 2015) Reasonable room and board costs will be arranged in adjoining west coast swedish hostel.
